The goal of our orthodontic courses is to prepare you to successfully diagnose and treat malocclusions in patients and acquire competence in treating them. At the completion of the beginning orthodontic course, you should be proficient in basic orthodontics. This is by no means a complete education in orthodontics. This is only the beginning. We hope that you realize that orthodontics is an ongoing learning process. Wisdom is knowing which orthodontic cases to treat and which orthodontic cases to refer. We hope to impart this upon you.

New study shows benefits of "non-contingent escape"

Hooray! Help for the dentist: New study shows benefits of "non-contingent escape" for children with behavior problems at the dentist. A new research study (full text pdf) published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis shows that giving children periodic breaks from the dental chair during treatments will significantly reduce tantrums and other problem behaviors.
